We Do Simply Everything

Fine workmanshipChoose from Midwest Prefinishing’s family of finishes—stain, paint, interior, exterior—or ask us to replicate an entirely different formulation. Our finishes apply to residential, multi-family, hospitality, and commercial projects. Prefinished items include doors, moulding, cabinet and stair parts, siding (log, car, and fiber-cement), exterior trim, and more.

Midwest’s Family of Finishes: A process for every purpose:

ProFinishProFinish® is not a formula, but a painstaking process developed over decades. It combines the latest technology with indispensable hand work: prepped, wiped oil stain, sealer, and topcoat.

ProFinish ColorsProFinish Colors is a paint process designed to help preserve the finish. Its CAB acrylic lacquer formula produces non-yellowing whites and pastels. Resins increase surface toughness, scratch-resistance, and smoothness. The standard application is 2-3 coats, producing a build of approximately 2.5-3.5 dry mils.

FiberSolidFiberSolid is a solid color sprayed onto the fiber siding twice for an even layer and to maintain the shadow effect without the pooling or runs common to the flooding method.

FiberGrainFiberGrain enhances the look of woodgrain on fiber cement by combining solid-color paint and multiple coats of semi-transparent stain, and a treatment to produce the highlights unique to the FiberGrain finish.

Quality Control

Throughout the prefinishing process, we’ll be checking your materials for defects and quality concerns to make sure you receive simply the best. For example, the ProFinish process includes at least four QC checks:

  1. Quality Control InspecitionInspect for glue, scratches, and drag marks when prepped and sanded
  2. Inspected for problems and given a touchup if necessary after stain is applied and wiped
  3. After sealer is applied, the door is inspected, and any problems are either repaired or the door is rejected.
  4. Inspected while being scuffed for the topcoat and during packaging

Identification

  • Pallet IdentificationImprint: Every piece of moulding and door is imprinted with your company’s name, the date, and the color.
  • Bar coding: Upon your request, we will affix a bar code label on to your products
  • Pallet label: Your order is carefully labelled on the pallet and the color is highlighted with a color code for easy identification. Custom packaging is available.

Stain and Color Matching

Choose from a large selection of stock colors or request a custom color-match. We match leading brands such as Minwax and Sherwin-Williams by number and color name. We also match your samples. All stains and finishes are available in jobsite containers for touch-up work and to match other wood accessories stained on the jobsite.

Special Orders

No order is too small or too large. We operate two facilities, one in Middleton, and one in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. The production lines include robotics and ovens on a continuous system. That’s great for large orders, but we also finish in booth for smaller, special orders.
